Review: Rebel Angels

Anyone else read a lot of Young Adult novels? I love them. Let me know which ones you love :)

Rebel Angels
Rebel Angels by Libba Bray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed the first book in the Gemma Doyle series and this sectino volume didn’t disappoint. It started a bit slow. There was a lot of – hey this is what happened in the first book – that became a bit tedious but that started to fall away once Gemma goes to London for Christmas. The book really picks up steam and actually surprised me a few times. I see mixed reviews for the 3rd book, but I am invested in these characters enough that I will definitely pick up the 3rd book.

On a side note, I really liked the underlying themes of gender, race, and class that Bray works into this book. I look forward to seeing how that pans out in the 3rd book.

  1. I like how you put that, that you are invested in the characters enough to read the 3rd one. I get that way too. Feel anxious when I have to leave them in a bad situation for too long, when I can’t read much. haha!
