You may remember last year when I gave away a copy of my book and a copy of A Van Jordan’s book Macnolia as a way to celebrate National Poetry Month. Kelli Agdon (as far as I can remember!) started the idea and she is hosting it again.
I knew I wanted to participate this year, but what to give away!
I have decided I want to give away a copy of the limited edition version of one of my chapbooks: The Wait of Atom. Now I know many of you who follow this blog may already own that book, but I’ll give you more details below in case you win.
The second book I will be giving away was really hard to decide on. I finally picked one of the first chapbooks I ever read and one that I still adore titled Love Poem to Androgyny which is also very timely because I think the poet will be reading locally next weekend!
For more details about this years contest you can visit Kelli’s blog at: this link.
To enter just make sure you enter your email when you leave a comment and note which book you would be interested in winning if you did win. I will pick two winners on May 1st.
Oh, and sorry for those of you who normally come and post a poem, we’ll get back to that next week. This week is just for comments about the contest and notations from those who want to enter
No biggy, we can wait- I feel pressure sometimes, because my creative process with working and all almost does not start fully till today through my weekend
so I get a break!
Hey, we all have our own ways of finding time to write! Most of mine is on the weekend as well or at night. I don’t often find ideas following me around on campus
I tend to write on weekends too though once in awhile a weeknight creeps in and lets me write something and be awake enough to do it.
Enter me in your drawing. I’d love to get your chapbook The Wait of Atom. Thanks.
Gotcha!
Great, Jessie! And sign me up! I’d love to be in the drawing! Happy (soon-to-be) National Poetry Month!
Great, I have you down, Kelli!
Absolutely I would like to be in the drawing. And I will be happy with either book, should I be one of the lucky ones.
Jessie, I am thinking of joining in this year. How do you do the drawing when it comes time?
m
I write all the names down and give everyone a number (usually in order of when they commented) then I use one of the online number generators. Then I do it again for the next book.
Thanks, Jessie.
i’d love to win your chapbook!
Thanks, Renee!
I’d love a chance to win!

Thank you!!
Been pondering the scheme…
I’d like to be put in the Atom Hat, Jessie!
I was trying to figure out how I can give away a favorite,
since the fave in question is in my reference works.
But Linda Benninghoff’s “Whose Cries Are Not Music” just came in,
and the contents include “Departures”, so that gem is freed up now.
Great, haunting stuff.
I’m going to if I can get put together a play in the event
with that and my “Nighthawks” book.
I can’t give away my favorites

Only if I can call you pikachu
I’d love either! Sophie, at herron.sophia at gmail.com

My chapbook collection consists of a whopping one title, which actually hasn’t arrived in the mail yet, so I’d be quite happy to win either book. There’s something particular nice about winning something from the author herself, however, so I’ll go with The Wait of Atom if I’m forced to choose.
I will be awarding the books this upcoming week
I’d love to be entered! Thanks!
You made it in before the deadline! Announcements soon
Please add me to the drawing. Thanks!
Last entry!!
And the winners are:
Sophie, at herron.sophia at gmail.com
and
http://www.tawnyshagreene.blogspot.com
Sophia since your number came up first you will get first choice so if both of you could email me at jessie.carty (at) gmail.com we can work out shipping the books!
