I think Helen said it best about this week – it has been goofy. Goofy good and goofy bad but still kind of goofy.
Here is my report on the sending work out front:
- Submitted: 5. 2 sets of poems. 1 essay (yep creative non-fiction!), 1 fiction piece and 1 query of 10 pages of the 2nd poetry manuscript.
- Accepted: goose egg again this week!
- Rejected: 5, all 3 stories rejected had comments but both sets of poems nothing.
Still trucking along at the gym and trying to eat right so weight was doing its tiny ups and downs but overall from last week down another .4 but most importantly I feel my energy is up and I’m going to try and increase the intensity of my workouts next week.
I’ve been having trouble sleeping again but I think it is due, at least in part, to all these ideas I have rolling around in my head. I need to get back to my rule where, during the week, I don’t check email and such after say about 7pm. I need to sleep folks! As much as I like hanging out with you guys on Facebook and all.
Hope everyone had a good week and that some writing was done. Always feel free to report in how your writing week went and/or if you sent any work out. Love to hear from you guys!
There may be no blog post tomorrow as I have a meeting to go to that, due partially to travel time, may take up the whole day. Have a great weekend!
Goofy week here, too. Mainly goofy good — and some full-on good good, like Referential Magazine, yaaay! Wrote a fun poem, “Mad Hot Tea Party,” in honor of the Alice remake. Haven’t sent it (or anything else) anywhere this week. Need to organize my stuff and figure out what to send where . . .
Oh love that title – Mad Hot Tea Party!
It takes a lot of effort to get all the stuff organized to send out. I totally know what you mean! I’m already loosing steam on sending out the fiction and finding places for the non-fiction. Guess I’ve been in the poetry game longer so I understand it a bit better
Getting ready to add the first bit of referred Artwork for Referential so that is pretty exciting!
Goofy week up here in the cold frozen north. My progress is crap as I’ve been avoiding my novel, but must hunker down this weekend and utilize the opportunity rainy weather is giving me. I’m also still waiting to hear from an editor I’ve worked with a couple of times at Reader’s Digest. I sent him an article a while back that I’m itching to have published. He’s a good guy, so who knows? Publishing = snails on downers. :0
Publishing – snails on downers. TOOO FREAKING TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!
Rainy weather is the best time to sit down and read and write. You can do it!!
Wrote several poems this week. Had a new syfy dream that I am working into a flash fiction piece. Sent out two poems, and something tonight. Too tired for words. A cliche, but true.
:) three for prosperity!
as i slog through my email before getting ready to do some driving after only 5 hours of sleep or less…i can relate!!!
just ordered Paper House.
peace
oh thank you SOOO much!!!
