Gift Card Burning a Hole in My Pocket

One of my Christmas gifts was a $25 gift card to Border’s. This is of course, AWESOME! I, however, have so many books that I haven’t read yet. I was trying to pare that down, even, and I took my pile of already read but not keeping books to the used bookstore. Well, that didn’t work out the way I thought it would. I had a good selection of books and I ended up being able to trade almost the same amount as I got back. OOPS!

I have put the gift card into my wallet but I will only use it if I just see something I have to have right at that moment, like a new release I don’t want to forget. Otherwise I am going to try and be very responsible (for once when it comes to books) and hold it until I get my reading list for the May residency. Maybe, then, I’ll actually be able to use it for my texts instead of digging up that cash.

In the past, I’ve never had so many books waiting to be read, but I think the culprit was rolled coin and Amazon. See, I used to take my rolled coin about once every month or two to the CoinStar machine at the local grocery store and I would trade it in for an Amazon gift card (they don’t charge to count the coins if you get a gift card). I was turning in like $25-$35 every month or two. That really was adding up to a lot of books. So to break the cycle when I turned my coin in today, I got an iTunes gift card that I am going to give to my husband :) He’s earned it!

Sorry gift card. Keep the front of my money warm. You’ll just have to wait awhile!!!
