Yep, I finally finished it. THANK GOODNESS!!
Oh wait, what did you say someday I have to revise it?
Ugh.
Good luck to everyone who is trying to finish and to congrats to everyone who has finished!
SO tomorrow is the last day of NaNoWriMo and I think I might just make it. I even feel more positive about my novel. I have 4000 words to go. I thought I would log back on this evening and do some more but I think instead I am going to finish all my house cleaning chores so that all I have on the agenda for tomorrow is buying groceries and doing the very uninvolved process of doing laundry.
I am so proud of everyone else who has dedicated themselves to writing everyday like that. Good work everyone! I’ll check in tomorrow
Since I have started playing with YouTube I have been going through my computer to find all my videos and upload. Right now I am waiting for my Flip camera to convert files to a smaller size so I can put them on upload. These are videos I took at Thanksgiving that my family wants to see and frankly using YouTube is the easiest solution.
While I did a search for all video files, however, I found something that hasn’t been seen by the general public (and not much of the public even then) since about 2000 so pardon the video quaility since they were made in 1999 and 2000. Think of it as a tribute to our website that is no all gone.
Enjoy if you dare
I have mentioned (and I link) my good friends who write and produce the online and print comic The DaDa Detective so I’d like to mention an audio interview that they completed recently. If you click on the title about it should take you but if not Interview to hear about the comic, the creators, and the creative process.
You go boys–and girl
Congrats.
Thanksgiving was Thursday but I still feel I am recovering. I, however, like to reflect back a bit and see how things went.
Pros: laughter that made your face hurt, family to remember with and create new memories with, got presents bought for all the kids in my life, found out after that that I have no more adults to buy for either (woo hoo!),
Either/or: stress of cooking and organizing, no writing completed, no reading completed
Cons: Gained 3 pounds, No exercise (except the shopping on Black Friday), forgot to start cooking the mashed potatoes–hey anyone for lumps!, my rolls didn’t rise too well, the cleaning up of the house afterwards (still in progress),
That’s just my thoughts in brief but it was a good time. Tiring but worth it. In 2 years the plan is to do it again–but at my brother and his wife’s house in Ohio. Cooking Thanksgiving once every 6 to 8 years–doable.
Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be back on a regular schedule. I finally finished a book last night, my first time reading in almost a week, and I have an idea for a poem that I should get down. Although what to do with being 5 days behind on NaNoWriMo I have NO idea
Gobble gobble
Head on over to the Dead Mule (well you should already have been doing there didn’t I tell you! Some wonderful poets have new poems popping up there today and they let me tag along in the group
This is all the post I can muster today. Two days of non-stop family and one of them bought Buckeyes. Evilly good.
Yep. Tomorrow is the day when the rest of my siblings arrive for a week long Thanksgiving celebration! Or, low-key-hope-i-survive-the-week-a-bration.
My youngest sister is already in town because her bf (fiance—got to remember that) lives in town already and we went out to see Beowulf yesterday and had lunch and dinner together. She is my sis, my sweetie, my homey but she is a bit extroverted so makes me tired after a while. Sorry girl, that be the facts! I just have to be honest with her about it but today was a good breather to get me ready for tomorrow.
Tomorrow my other sister (who is married with two kids) and her husband should arrive somewhere around 4 or 5. They split their trip in half by stopping in Kentucky to visit a friend from college but should get here early afternoon. My older brother and his wife are coming in from Ohio and should get in about the same time.
Before they arrive I need to: wash sheets from master bedroom and guest bedroom, make the beds back up, straighten the living room and kitchen, vacuum, try to dekitty hair as much as possible from the curtains and such as brother-in-law has some pet allergies, do my NaNoWri count for the day, final critique for November workshop, clean up both bathrooms, and hopefully get to the store to get some snacks and soda but the rest of the shopping will be done after arrival so I can make sure I am getting what everyone wants.
I also need to call the bank about some other stuff, call Kung Fu school to see if/when classes will be offered and decide if I am going to take. I’m not stressing out but my sister who is already here called earlier and said she wanted to come over and hang out while her bf (fiance–oops) was working. Umm…I don’t think people who realize I’m not “working” realize that I am a housewife, writer and a full-time graduate student. It’s not like I don’t have anything to do during the day and now I am planning Thanksgiving.
It probably seems like I’m stressed but I’m not really. Everytime we have done Thanksgiving in the past as a group we have had a really good time. My house is only 1200 square feet and I don’t own a table per se and we will have 8 adults and 2 children under 5 but it’s all good. It is my favorite holiday and I’m glad to do it. Just keep telling yourself that and remember that if the 2 year cycle continues you won’t have to do this again for a good 6 years
