I made myself stay at home on Friday night as long as possible, even watching 20/20 about parents giving there daughter’s breast implants (I’m anti on that!) and left at about 11:40. When I got to the mall, the Macy’s parking area next to Border’s was packed. I go to the mall to walk a lot so I’m not used to parking that far away . The store, of course, was packed and, I hate to say it, but it was close to chaos when people were actually trying to go up and get the final Harry Potter book.
With my book in hand I read the acknowledgements and such things at traffic lights on the 10 minute drive back to my house. I had taken me about 20 minutes to get the book so I got home in about another 15 and was so tired I just passed out. I didn’t sleep well, I think, anticipating reading the book but I wanted to get some exercise so I got up at 7 and went to a large yard sale at the Metrolina Expo and spent about 40 minutes there. I had the book in the car with me though, grin, so on the way back from that I managed to read about 10 pages while at traffic lights. The hubby and I went out a few times during the day but not a lot so by about 11:30 last night I was at back 608 of 759 before I finally called it quits for the night. I wanted to be clearheaded to read the last chapters.
SO of course this morning I did it. I am not going to do any reading or writing today. Gonna get some lunch, watch some movies w/ hubby (we just got a PS3 so we can play blu ray movines) and I am going to try and plan out some new schedules for myself during my sabbatical time.
Thoughts on the book? I don’t want to give anything away but I think it was a very well done conclusion. There were, however, about 100 pages in the center of the book–a literal wandering through the forest type scenario–that did drag on a bit, but was necessary. I am pleased and I now have all 7 hardbacks proudly displayed
On other fronts? Friday was hectic so I didn’t post. I had to work things out about rolling over my 401k and getitng life insurance as well as finalizing my savings accounts. I didn’t get it all done and I won’t go into the whole story but it involved, in part, the temporarily misplacement of my driver’s license.
I wish I was doing better on the weight loss front. I am going to put down 3.5 pounds after 3 weeks, as I have decided not to weigh as often or obsessively. This week I want to focus on eating when I am hungry, stopping when I am full, and doing more workouts that can be done in the house instead of constantly going out and leading myself into temptation and frustration!
Hope everyone else is enjoying their trip into Harry Potter’s world for the final book time, and if you aren’t reading it–well, I’ll forgive you This time.
